The Business of Fashion was founded in 2007 by Imran Amed, a fashion business advisor, writer and digital entrepreneur. And what began as a project of passion has now grown into a platform that today, serves as an essential daily resource for fashion creatives, executives and entrepreneurs alike.

Aiming to fill the void for an informed, analytical and opinionated point of view on the fashion business, The Business of Fashion leverages a network of savvy writers and fashion insiders in style capitals around the world, delivering fashion business intelligence on emerging designers, disruptive technologies and global brands.

Headquartered in London, The Business of Fashion has a following in over 200 countries and its website now includes dedicated ‘Careers’ and recently launched ‘Education’ portals.

About The Founder

Former management consultant Imran Amed started The Business of Fashion as a blog from his sofa. And what began as a very personal project has been the catalyst for a new kind of fashion dialogue, exploring the key drivers of an industry undergoing unprecedented change.

The Harvard Business School graduate is now recognized as one of fashion’s leading thinkers and commentators, and has received numerous awards from industry peers and the wider media for his creativity, entrepreneurship and influence. Most recently, in 2015, he was named as one of Fast Company’s Most Creative People, included in Surface’s Power 100 list and named Honorary Professor of Fashion Business at Glasgow Caledonian University.

In addition to his role as CEO & Editor in Chief of The Business of Fashion, Imran is an Associate Lecturer at Central St Martin’s College of Art & Design. He has also sat on international fashion juries at The Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Belgium, the Festival d’Hyères in France and, ITS and Who Is On Next in Italy.
