Wishi (for Wear It, Share It), is a platform that provides personal styling in real-time at an affordable price. Via a dedicated app, Wishi connects personal stylists with users anywhere in the world, helping them to optimize their existing closets, as well as introducing them to relevant and inspiring items that are within their budget.
The idea was conceptualized by stylist Clea O’hana who, after fielding countless styling requests from friends, realized that a service which has typically been the preserve of celebrities and high-net-worth individuals, is also of great interest to the public at large.
Users create an online closet by uploading images of items from their own wardrobes, and using these images their chosen stylist puts together outfits for a given event or occasion or simply every day. Using links on the Wishi site, stylists can also suggest possible store purchases to create or complete particular looks. The user then decides whether or not he or she wants to use the outfit options provided.
Stylists are comprised of industry-approved existing professionals as well as those who accrue credentials through the app by receiving Stylist badges which are awarded based upon the rankings they receive on completed outfits from fellow users. Once a stylist earns a badge, he or she can then get paid for styling others. Stylists set their own terms and prices for styling, while Wishi provides the technology and the platform to enable them to connect with clients.
Wishi, headquartered in San Francisco, has been recognized as the number one local start-up by PitchForce, has 530,000 users a month, and is growing.
About The Founders
Born in New York City to a South African mother and Moroccan father, Clea spent her teens and twenties growing up in a whirlwind mix of places that include Morocco, Florida, Paris, Geneva and London. After finishing her studies in finance and economics at HEC Geneva, she decided to pursue a career in fashion. Starting at Net-A-Porter as a stylist, it was not long before the new team charged with repositioning Belstaff in the luxury arena noticed Clea’s talent, and she was offered a global remit that stemmed head of visual and celebrity/VIP styling.
Lia was born and raised in Israel, but studied at New York University in Manhattan. Her background is in Digital Marketing and before relocating to San Francisco to establish the Wishi headquarters, she was previously head of an advertising agency in Israel whose clients included Pepsi, Mango and Gap.
Aya has a B.Sc. in Computer Science from Ben-Gurion University. She is an experienced technology professional in all aspects of software development with a proven record of success in architecture, design, development, QA and deployment.
