Carmen Busquets is a Venezuelan entrepreneur, strategic investor and philanthropist, whose career in the luxury fashion industry spans over three decades. A pioneering member of the fashion-tech space, Carmen champions its potential to advance sustainable development, turning the luxury fashion industry into one that balances profit with purpose.
Following a career that has been forged by a commitment to experiment, disrupt and challenge existing ideas, in 2025 she established the Carmen Busquets Foundation to recognise fashion, art and design as agents of change – advancing projects that promote craftsmanship, culture, and sustainability.

From the avant-garde luxury fashion boutique Cabus in Caracas, to her launch of CoutureLab a boutique, e-commerce and content platform with a focus on selling one-off handcrafted pieces and promoting fashion-transcending trends, Carmen has always chosen to uplift creative companies and founders that value artisan craftsmanship and cultural heritage as much as innovative technologies.
Having practiced the mind and body disciplines of mindfulness and meditation from an early age, Carmen advocates for the benefits of balancing material life with spiritual well being, a set of practices she believes to be inherently linked to her business success.
Marking a pivotal new era in Carmen’s career, the foundations channels her award-winning leadership into a focused effort to preserve cultural legacy and support underrepresented voices.
While Carmen continues her humanitarian support for causes such as Glasswing International and WWF, the foundation reflects her desire to cement a unique and lasting legacy where creativity, inclusivity and cultural expression are recognized as essential to sustainable development.
“I have felt a profound sense of purpose throughout my life. My philanthropic work began 42 years ago, and I have sought to create a positive impact through my roles as an entrepreneur and investor. Now that I have turned 60, I will be significantly slowing down my investments in fashion-tech startups but I still feel an urgent need to focus on the foundation, ensuring that my values and ethos are reflected in every activity it undertakes.”
