ABOUT GOLEADORAS

Goleadoras use soccer as an instrument to transform the lives of girls and women around the world.

Its mission is to encourage girls and women to play soccer in teams to reduce the gender gap by developing their assertiveness without violence, physical well-being, and health. In addition, their socio-emotional development program empowers girls to develop their patience and perseverance, teamwork skills, creativity and discipline, self-esteem, leadership abilities, and emotional skills.
Goleadoras have alliances with several organizations across the US and Latin America to get the organization programs to girls across the region and use the media's power to inspire women in sport and leadership. Through the Goleadoras All-Star Podcast, launched in the summer of 2020, the organization inspires thousands of girls to learn from the experiences of successful women across the board. Past guests include Ariana dos Santos, Deyna Castellanos, Hope Solo, Kelly Nascimento, Melissa Ortiz, Majken Gilmartin, Gisela Gil Robledo, Victoire Cogevina Reynal, and others.

ABOUT THE FOUNDER

Born and raised in the Venezuelan Amazon rainforest, Eglantina Zingg always wanted to be a Marine Biologist. She enrolled at the University of Miami to study her passion, but opportunities in the entertainment industry quickly put her on a different path.

After a successful career in acting and modeling, Eglantina landed a hosting job for MTV, becoming one of the most recognized faces in Latin American Television. But one thing always remained unchanged: her passion and commitment to making the world a better place with equal opportunity for children to thrive, regardless of their background or gender.

Eglantina used her voice to address pressing human rights issues, particularly gender equality. In 2016, she moved to New York to set up Goleadoras, in parallel to her work as a United Nations Agent for Peace.
